Four Button US Sack Coat****.
For fatigue duty, Union soldiers were issued a “sackcoat”. Examples
of original blouses show most Arsenal made coats were lined, (Army Regulations
called these “Recruit Coats”) while many commercial contract blouses
were unlined. Arsenal made blouses are typically made from 12 oz wool flannel,
while contract blouses were made to the specifications given by the Army to
the contractor at time of order. Also, Army sutlers sold commercial grade blouses
to soldiers who preferred not to take the Army issue clothing. Both blouses
are accurate reproductions for US Army soldiers.

Features a roll collar and inside left breast pocket. Standard length is about
halfway between the hip and knee. Both have four medium sized US General Service
buttons supplied, but not sewn on, and split cuffs without buttons..............Price

lighter weight 12 ounce dark blue wool flannel blouse with cotton lining on
order. Features a roll collar and inside left breast pocket. Standard length
is about halfway between the hip and knee. Both have four medium sized US General
Service buttons supplied, but not sewn on, and split cuffs without buttons.

US Enlisted Shell Jacket

Made from our quality 19 oz dark blue field service wool, these jackets are fully
lined with natural muslin and have the back bolsters to support the waist belt.
Our jackets feature as standard the quality worsted wool (mohair) lace. Optional
chest padding and alternate lining fabrics are available at extra cost. The jacket
has a 12 button front and two button functional cuffs, and two buttons on each
side of the collar. The ½” size US General Service buttons are supplied with
this coat but not sewn on.

Mounted Service Jackets are trimmed with branch
color- Cavalry- yellow, Artillery- red, Mounted Rifles- dark green.
Musician Trim is available in matching mohair braid.

US Untrimmed Shell Jacket (Roundabout)
An untrimmed jacket,
the roundabout was a carry over from the Mexican War. It was used by several Union
States as their State Militia Uniform coat. Our US Roundabout may be ordered in
either the dark blue 19 ounce field service wool or 14 ounce Summer weight wool.
Both are natural cotton lined, with an inside pocket and 9 button front. US Eagle
(medium sized) buttons are supplied. Tube style sleeves (non functional) without
buttons. The coat has a standing collar about 1-1/2" high.
Several options, such as Shoulder Straps, Belt Loops and exterior pockets can
be added to this jacket for several different Militia impressions. Visit our

Infantry Cut Off Frock Coat
A few Infantry units took to cutting the skirt
off the US Infantry Frockcoat in warmer weather to make a shorter jacket.
Although not regulation, this was considerably more comfortable to wear during
the summer months. Not to be confused with the "roundabout", this
coat has blue infantry piping. These were seldom worn. All Infantry Shelljackets
