Gettysburg Commemorative Buckle- 125th Anniversary, Limited Edition 1988.
Very fine details in Solid brass. The buckle measures 3 3/4" X 2 1/2".
Each buckle is numbered on the back.
These were made for the 125th Anniversary reenactment in 1988. We were set up
there, and Fall Creek West (My Parents) were selling these for someone on the
West Coast. The buckles showed up on Saturday (The Reenactment started on Wednesday).
We sold around 100 buckles at the event that weekend. Due to the late arrival,
there were quite a few left.
The Buckles state that the edition was limited to 5000, but only 250 were delivered
to the event. After the reenactment we sold them for a while and then they went
into storage for twenty years. I do not know if there were any more made than
the original 250, and I have never seen them offered anywhere else- Ever. No
one ever came to claim the buckles that we had, and so now I am selling the
few that we have available. Each comes sealed in it's original package with
the serial number from the buckle written on the back of the package as well.
This would be a handsome keepsake for any Gettysburg Reenactment collector,

for an 1860 US Cavalry Saber as used by both Confederate and Union Cavalry Soldiers.

actual Cavalry use, Click Here for details................................................................$75.00
Please Note-
We offer very high quality swords and sabers elsewhere on our website.
Please understand that these sabers are not made of high quality spring steel
as were the original period sabers. The original cavalry and artillery sabers
were designed to use as slashing weapons to break bones, not cutting weapons
(not originally made with sharp edges). They were also not meant to be used
as butcher knives i.e. cutting off body parts like in the movies.
In the modern reenactment world, the sabers are used for show with minimal contact.
Any slashing or chopping against hard surfaces or the edge of other sabers could
cause damage to the saber as well as the user. Our better quality swords and
sabers are able to handle some abuse, however, our "economy" swords
and sabers are just that- economical. They are made less substantial and cannot
handle much rough treatment (which would also void any warranty from the suppliers).
Please use care when reenacting with these sabers. We all want a safe and
enjoyable hobby.
